Eden lodge is the namesake property of Eden Housing and was one of the first properties they developed during the 1970s. It was originally designed by the great Bay Area architect Piero Patri. The building had simple and spare exteriors but was exceptional for its plan which incorporated a fully enclosed and private courtyard. Over time, the balcony shade structures which helped define the exterior appearance deteriorated. This tax credit rehabilitation allowed us to reimagine and replace the shade structures with new low maintenance and durable steel canopies, gave form and substance to the building entry with a new porte cochere and exterior design. All systems and interiors were upgraded while the courtyard received its due becoming a friendly and comfortable space for the senior population to congregate.
